Meet Taylor

Taylor McNair
Taylor is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the owner of West Physiotherapy in Asheville, NC. She graduated from Southern Methodist University where she enjoyed biology, anatomy, and physiology although she knew that a lab or doctor’s office were not for her. Her first introduction to physical therapy was researching careers related to those interests. Physical therapy was the perfect fit! After graduation, she spent a year fulfilling the requirements for PT school and working in a residential and clinical setting for people with traumatic injuries, which led her to her early years as an inpatient therapist.
After graduating from Northwestern’s Physical Therapy program in Chicago, while working as a PT in a New York City hospital, Taylor injured her back. In addition to missing work and social events due to the pain, she experienced the fear of wondering if she’d always have back pain and what that might mean for her life. Fortunately, she had a great outpatient orthopedic PT as her guide to recovery. From that personal experience, she focused her career on learning everything she could to help people like herself get out of pain and get back to living their lives without worry.
Over several years of transitioning to and working in outpatient orthopedics, she completed several advanced certifications including a Fellowship in Functional Manual Therapy. She still felt like something was missing from her treatments though, which led her to more training in pelvic and women’s health. This breadth of knowledge and practice has allowed her to create a complete and holistic approach to her patients and their complex problems.
In her free time, Taylor enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, hiking, art, and reading.
